I think the a/t/c thing is a typo I guess, I can't figure out what that would stand for. Call the seller and ask him. The price looks good to me, that's like $5k U.S., right?

Watch out for a rusty floor and any rust above the windshield. If it looks like surface rust above the windshield, it's not, they rust from the inside out up there. It will be way worse than it looks.

The trans will probably be noisy, but if it's popping out of gear a rebuild will be necessary.

Im not sure what the KMs equal in miles. I just at a 92 recently with 212K auto , cummins, exta cab., paint fading, broken door handle, little stuff gone bad, $9500.
Sounds about right. Look for oil leaks around the front of the engine (KDP) . drive it, shifting? 4x4? no noises? I always had rear brake problems on my 93 350 4x4, adjusters were junk.. Overall there pretty tough, and simple. I see you have 2 already so just be aware of the same issues as your 94.

9k canadian is around 5 k us , yes.
and there is 60 miles in 100 km , for easy math.

Only one of the trucks in my sig is mine , but it won't be soon , the 94 is the one i drove while at work , and the 97 will soon be dad's .

I am going to college , so i can't afford the 97 , and i'm not working , so i haven't been driving the 94.

i saw this one for sale , and almost fell in love right away.

How much would i be looking at for a half decent rebuilt transmission?

I could do most all of the lobour myself , i would just be looking at replacing gears seals and bearings?

Unless it's real bad just synchros, seals and bearings. The pieces can be had for around $300 U.S. And like I said, unless it's popping out of gear it'll run for a while if you treat it nice.

The trans is a Getrag G360 rather than the NV 4500 in the '97. The Getrag is known for being noisy. This is not necessarily a problem, just the nature of the beast. A bad one will pop out of gear, grind when shifting, etc. I just wanted you to be aware that some noise from the trans is not unusual and not to immediately turn down the truck for that reason.

I just bought my truck a few months ago, it has the getrag 360 tranny in it and it is very very noisy. The one i got had the tranny rebuilt 10K miles ago. If you wont to extend the life of the getrag, overfill it 1-2 quarts and it gets more oil to the main bearing.I'm sure they will last awhile if taken good care of. If not, get a NV4500

The Getrag uses brass instead of synthetic synchro rings, and shift slower than the NV4500, so I think they get a little more abuse. Also, the oil fill height is set for a more horizontal installation than Dodge used, so if you fill to the plug, you are actually under-filling that transmission a little bit. That said, the guts of the Getrag "look" tougher than the guts of the NV4500 . . . Also, the NV4500 has a slightly faster OD.

a/t/c?

My only guess on a/t/c would be ?/tilt/cruise. I would have said Automatic for the A except that it's a 5 speed.

My recollection is that the early '91s were non-intercooled and the '91.5s were intercooled so you'll want to look at that. Seems like the non-intercooled ones had a problem with cracks in the heads around the injectors. Also, the older trucks had larger exhaust turbo housings so they had a bit more turbo lag. This isn't anything to scare you off, just a heads up that it probably won't perform like your '97. If the rest of the truck is solid, the lag can be cured with a housing upgrade or a turbo upgrade.

Good luck.

1989-1991.0 - Non-intercooled, 18.5 cm2 housinhg
1991.5-1992 - intercooled, 21cm2 housing
1993 - intercooled, 18.5cm2 housing

The early intercooled trucks had larger housing causing more turo lag. The heads on the non-intercooled trucks were said to be more likely to crack due to large 9mm injectors. I've been told that if it's been ok till now, then it will prolly be ok. I have a 1991 non-intercooled and the head has been fine for me.

a/t/c

AIR/TILT/CRUISE?

Hope this helps a bit

You guys are a great help , i don't think i am going to be able to get that truck , it is just too far away , (alberta , i'm in n.b.) , so i am going to have to watch for something a little closer to home, i found another 93 that is only an hour away , but it is extended can , long wheel base , and i am looking for reg cab reg wheel base.

If you guys hear of anything within a few hours from me , please let me know.

a/t/c- Air, tilt steering, cruise.

The price and mileage and condition appear to be o.k. -for us Canucks it's about par for the course.
Follow the other's suggestions regarding the tranny and rust on top of the windshield and floor pans. Also look and feel around under fender trim for rust that the trim may be convering up.

Even if there are some things wrong with the truck, you can use this to bring down the price. Don't rush into it, check a few more out as well. Good luck finding a good rig!! Let us know how you made out.
