Turbo Opinions Wanted

I'm trying to decide between the HTB2 66/14 and HTB2 64/14 for my truck. The mods are in the sig and it will be timed at 16* next week. I don't pull too heavy (6500lbs max) or too often but I still need to be able to tow my car to the track and DD the truck empty. I'd love to hear what you guys have to say but please don't bash the turbo's or tell me how I should do "xyz" before I upgrade the turbo. After the turbo is in I'll have enough air for some more fuel mods.

Thanks.

John

I have tried only the Htb2 62... great turbo and great spool up, got a lil hot though.
All i have heard about the 66 is they move lots of air on top end, but kinda laggy and have a surging problem!
And the 64 is somewhere between them too
I am gonna install the Htb2 64/14 this month...
It costed me NEW $1285 shipped, (Anyone can PM me for address)
I believe atc250r decided to buy there

I've heard the 66s will surge on some 12 valves. I've had both the 62/12 and the 66/14 I'm currently running the Sledpuller 66 but I will probably be selling it and trying the new Pro Street 66 before too long. The Sledpuller 66 works great on my 24 valve with no surging issues at all and I tow my 3 horse slant load fairly often as well as hauling hay but I'm in the range of 1700 feet and less on altitude.

Thanks for the input. Is the surging issue really that common with the 66/14 or is it just an uncommon thing that is exagerrated? Will I be able to keep the EGT's in check with a 64/14 even with bigger injectors?

I think the 66 would be too big and laggy for just a 100 plate and injectors.

I'm thinking 64/14 will be the best compromise for my set up. Anyone else care to chime in?

Thanks.
