Q's about my free hx35w
I had a friend of mine give me a hx35w the other day and $100 for the 4" DP.
the questions that i have about it are, will the oil feed be the same or different sizes?
The turbo was setting on the shelf and has some dirt around the impeller and possibly in the oil passages. what is a good way to clean it out.
the waste gate is bolted th the compressor housing designed for an IC so i guess i will have to fab up some crazy tube for the crossover.
thanks for your help.

The oil feed line fitting that enters the turbo on non-intercooled trucks is much bigger than on intercooled trucks. As long as this hx35 has the adaptor fitting threaded into the oil supply, your oil line will fit just fine. If not, you'll need to get a fitting from a hydraulic fitting/supply shop.
I would ditch the 12cm housing, sell it, then use your stock 18cm housing. It will cool better. Then you won't have to mess with the wastegate actuator, just unbolt it, and pipe plug the compressor housing port.

I'm running an hx40/12cm and love it. You do have to watch the gauge, but I only have to let off if I hold the pedal to the floor from stop to about 70 at 70 Im topping 1250-1300 and will hit 1500 quick if I dont let off a little. Its a lot of fun driving an auto w/ a 12 on the road. I had a 16 w/ my h1c and w/ the pdr 40 Im running now. Unless I have severe/uncontrollable temps hauling I'm gonna stick w/ the 12cm. When I'm cruising I'm at 600-650 at 70-75mph. Also, it doesnt take much to make the 35 fit w/ or w/out the actuator. Just figure this might be helpful. Oh, I haven't done any porting on the housing, yet! and I've never run the actuator. Always have had the wg wired shut on the 35 and 40.

I don't think that setup will be too hot, but I don't see the point of a small housing on a 727 truck. The fast spoolup of the 12 cm won't do much for you, and the restriction on the top end won't help anything. You probably don't have too much fuel for the 12 with your pump set the way it is, but you won't see any benefits and your highway fuel economy will drop a little. Use the 16 you have on there now with the '35.

You can't swap compressors between the HX and H1 turbos. If you have an HX-35, throw it on there. Having an overdrive means that the high end restriction of the 12 cm is not a big deal.

i don't have the overdrive
but with the h1c with the 16Cm2 stock down pipe and 2nt gen exhaust I'm running 650* and some where between 4-6 psi at 65
the hx35w will have full 4" all the way out.
I want to run the hx but I'm worried that the egt's will get toasty towing my crawler up to the Rubicon or just running down the highway for that matter.

It will actually run cooler on the highway because you will be making 10-12 psi of boost. It will not be any worse than what you have now under towing conditions.
I think you ought to swap the 16 housing you already have onto your new '35. It'll run a little cooler all around than your current setup.
