Free...Free at last.....
My 06' finally relieved as daily driver for wife at 30k. With diesel fuel over $4/gallon, had to move her to the Honda Civic. Had VW diesel car before but tired of waiting on them and the price differential continues to grow. I have a company truck for work so 06' will primarily wait for play time or towing the travel trailer.

Congrats. Good move.
Mine will see some DD use for a little while longer but by mid summer (I hope) It will sit for at least 50% to 60% of the time.

Mine is a work truck and the fuel prices are now my biggest expence(sp?). Wish I had the money some of you guys have here just to let my truck sit 50%-60% of the time.....I would just sell it and become the much richer(if that's even a word) a month!!!

Mine sits all week but is driven on the weekend if I do not have to work. My truck will not see the jobsite again now that I have a Jeep Cherokee for a daily driver. I can not see paying over $4.00/gallon for diesel when gas is $3.20/gallon and the Jeep gets 20+ MPG.

Really ticks you off don't it? Our trucks are for the most part more fun to drive than our other vehicles, unless you're name is Wiggs, lol!
Mine is gonna see a few miles today, got a dyno day about a half hour away to go to.

Yeah, me too. Double duty work truck and personal vehicle for whatever little time I'm at home. Only doing about 130k miles this year on this truck, about 20k miles less than I did with the 04.5 for the last two years, but I sure spent a LOT more money for fuel this year!!

I'm lucky to put 10K per year on my trucks usually, my 2006 has 28K already. The last year or so I have been towing more stuff, so it has been driven more than it might have been. It gets close to double the mileage that my old Ford gasser did towing similar stuff. To me even at $4.00+ per gallon I am ahead of where others are with gassers, and I get better mileage over my friends with Ford or Duramax diesels.
I have 2 other vehicles - my Jeep Wrangler with a 6-cyl gets about 17-18 mpg, and my turbocharged Miata gets 30+ mpgs. Both of them are also fun vehicles to drive.
No matter what we all drive these days, the price of gas or diesel makes anything more costly. Add to that the cost of parts and maintenance and we actually sometimes have greater expenses driving the car that gets us better fuel mileage. Kind of equals out when all is said and done.

With usually fair to down right fantastic weather down here most of the year, I ride my 1989 Yamaha FJ1200. On highway getting 33-37 mpg, but sure I can reach close to 45mpg once I get around to tuning it up and balancing the carbs, and oh yeah, laying off the throttle.
Now if I could only convince the wife to ride a bike instead of driving her Durango with the 5.7L Hemi....

I have a 70 mile round trip everyday. I used to carpool but the wife graduated and has been working since Aug. last year. As soon as I can I will be carpooling again. Not like I have a lot of money but I do spend and invest wisely. and carpooling to me is one of those wise choices.

I use mine for work, drive no more, drive no less than before, on jobs further from home I will have to bill customers more. I like my truck, & it is used 80% for work only, & it will not sit as long as I book jobs. If your parking your trucks because of the fuel $, SELL them, you don't need a truck anyway. My truck gets 15 to 17 mpg, my wifes tracker gets 18 to 20, not much of a differance.

I don't think you need to worry about what others do with their trucks.
