Pump/injector assembly questions
Hey all,
I am confused about the injector thickness on the injectors. Can someone give me the rundown? Why would someone want a certain size? Can they be reused? I had the injectors in my truck tested and asked the shop if I needed new washers... they said just clean 'em up, they're okay to reuse?
Also, what is the torque on the delivery valves? I want to make sure they are all torqued correctly before I put the injector lines back in.
I ordered a FSM today.
Thanks,
Brian

I would want a new set of washers. They seal by being squished, and yours are already squashed.
With the stock injectors, the stock washers will be fine. I don't know the thickness off the top of my head. The thin ones are used with POD's to try to get the spray pattern somewhat close to where it ought to be, those are .020"
No idea on the DV torque spec. That info's not in the service manuals because Dodge and Cummins don't expect techs to be doing pump work. Gutentight.
