Pump help

tonight i went to turn my pump up and the fuel screw bottomed out so i took it out and welded some on the end.. put it back in and fired it back up. as i went in on the fuel screw and bliped the throttle to get it close to run away i noticed that if i just gave it about 1/4 throttle it sounded like it had a miss so i went a lil further and it would go away so i went a lil more on the fuel screw and got it to runaway and the "i guess miss" went away.. the miss sounds like its got a ton of timing in it.

all said and done its at runaway but when i went to shut the truck off with the manual shut off it would not shut the truck off but it did shut off with key..

this is on my 93 short bed

mine did this same thing. turn it back a half of a turn and go from there dont want it to be too close just incase you know just make sure you have a buddy with you or you are prepared for runaway. take the intake off the turbo and get ready with a piece of thick flat rubber that is how i shut mine off

Sounds like the shutoff lever needs to be adjusted. There's a little adjustment screw that stops the lever, you need to back it out some so the lever goes a little further.

Or if you've ever taken the lever off the shaft, it could now be indexed wrong.
