Pulltilbroke's Allis Chalmers in Diesel Power
Just received the latest issue of DP today and found an Allis Chalmers 920 in the Readers' Diesels section. Turns out it belongs to one of our own, Andrew (Pulltilbroke).
"What did I drive when I went to pick it up, you ask? Well, a first-generation Dodge, of course."
My favorite line!
Congrats making it in the media, Andrew!

Likewise about yours, Austin! What are we waiting for? I suppose I could send them some pictures and info about my truck. With the dually bed going on soon, I could send them before and after pictures, huh?

Yeah, I was actually Kinda surprised to see it in there. I figured they'd put my old wreck of a truck in there before the tractor.
Kinda cool to see something you own in a National publication.

Supposedly my buddy said he saw a pic of mine on the rollers in Diesel world mag from Bully Dog Days but I haven't seen it or im not sure cuz I don't get Diesel world...yet anyways.
Personally I think a lot of trucks on this forum should get some recognition rather than the people with lots of $$$ with an estimated hp in the mag. You don't have to have a lot of money in your truck to have it look good or run good especially when its spankin a lot of the newer trucks.

Congrats Andrew! I just read the article and did not realize you were a DTR member. I love the tractor, also I grew up in Peotone,Ill and was wondering if that tractor was built in Harvey,Ill or Matteson,Ill? Allis-Chalmers had several plants near me and my neighbor worked at the one in Matteson. Just curious!!

Actually Allis Garden tractors were built by Simplicity, an Allis owned company. and I believe this unit was built in Port Washington Wisconsin
Jason, I am not actually a subscriber, My buddy Dan is and I just read it when he's done. But I did buy 2 of the same copy this month. One to keep and one to cut up for the harbor freight coupons.

Sorry I forgot you posted where they were made. I am having problems editing my post so I will just post again. Where was Port Washington? I figured West Allis was called that because of Allis Chalmers and that was where the tractors were made.
