Looks good man. If i remember, the thing was in sad sad shape before the body swap.

You got lucky and even found a body with nice paint! Did you swap the cab too? Sounds like a lot of work.

More power to ya, nice job

Yea we swapped the cab too. It took a long time but it was well worth it. I like the eighties-ness of the old body too. The hardest part was actually swapping the cab. We had 6 guys and could not lift that thing! So we used cinder blocks, some big timbers and a lot of creativity.

Nice, must have been a ton of work but the payoff looks worth it. I love the Prospector trim...wish I still had my 86, it was a sweet truck.

Looks great!! The question is however, how do you plan to keep the prospector body in decent shape and prevent the rust that destroyed the original body? I'm orginally from Erie, PA and when I go home I am continually amazed at the rust on the vehicles there even late models.

Wow, that must have been a lot of work but it looks like the easiest way to clean it up! I've got the same trim that I removed from along the top of the dually bed I bought last year.

I grew up just north of Saegertown, left two years ago and haven't been able to get back yet.

I manage to get back to Erie every year even when I was stationed overseas. Retired now in Northern Virginia and am looking at moving back home. Summers great, winters, well thats why snowbirding was invented...

I want to get back and see some people and get the rest of my stuff, but it probably won't be for a couple years yet.

Found a picture while moving some stuff off my hard drive, took me a minute to realize that it was taken beside the house there.

They are pretty heavy we did mine with 6 guys but it was nearly gutted with no doors.
