Project Sno Ball ....85 RamCharger
The plow I managed to sneak into one of the shipping containers we used to move all our household stuff.

Once I got Sno-ball home I embarked on rebuilding the plow pump and other systems.
I used this site for the rebuild.....
Smith Brothers Services - Step by Step Rebuilding a Meyer E-47 Plow Pump
Draining out some of the nasty fluid...

Some corrosion between electric motor and main body....

Pump all rebuilt and ready to be repainted and installed.

Went to the local auto parts store and bought a can of engine paint that looked close to the original yellow. Got it pretty close....looks much better.

Replaced the trip springs....they were looking a little rough.

And some new lines and fittings.

When I first got it all back together I had no power to the main controls in the truck. Hunted and messed around with the wiring for several days until I finally started tracing wires and found that the power is supplied by the A/C fuse in the fuse panel. All the on-line wiring diagrams I found showed it powered through different fuses....depending on year. Tossed in a new 30amp fuse and it works like a charm now.

And then there is the purchase of the donor truck for the cummins conversion. Found a local guy who was selling just the axles....3.54 D60F and D70 from a 93 1st Gen. Called and he said they were still in the truck. Well I asked how much for the carcass and the axles....same price!
Tons of good parts still on the truck, and he tossed in a bunch of spare 1st Gen parts he had laying around as well. It was a pretty decent score!
Loading it up with the trusty old chain block....slow, but always gets the job done.

And home....

Unloading with my new-to-me Case 1845C....

And that is about it....Sno-Ball sits and waits for the call of duty....it's plowed the driveway a couple times this winter so far. Doubt I will get the Cummins conversion done next year....need to get a Shop/Garage built so that is my priority.
I fired it up after doing belt and hoses and a new T-stat and the LH drive motor wouldn't work. It was -25+*C when I did though and I have not had a chance to flush the Hyd system....so perhaps there was some water in there. So it's just been sitting. Need to tent it up, then warm it so I can get it into the garage....then drain and flush the Hyd system, new filter and hope everything works after that.
Joys of older equipment....

I absolutely love it....it's so versatile and convenient. Takes less then 2 min to unfold it, then you can load whatever you want in the box. Then another 2 min to fold it back up. Takes up very little space at the head of the box once folded down, and you can totally remove it with two small pins, for storage in the garage/shop....and it only weighs about 35lbs.
Can someone look through my thread here and tell me if all the pics are up and working? I am trying Marks info about adding the "~original" to all the pics......but most were already working when I came into the thread. In the edit of the post it shows the working pics with "attach" on either side of a 5-6 digit number.....so not sure if the mods are working through fixing threads and pics? If they are....THANK YOU!
