Project Sno Ball ....85 RamCharger
Meyer solenoid 15370 cross over information....
Just for future lurkers, and other who might stumble on this info I will add what I found about the Solenoid on this Meyer E47 system I have.
Stats on the solenoid....
The original Mopar Part # is 4216520....my system was still sporting the original solenoid! The stock unit is a continues duty rating of 150 amps, 3 pole unit.
The original Meyer made solenoid # is 15370, but is no longer available.
The direct aftermarket replacement is by Prestolite #BPL3012. This aftermarket unit is the same 150 amp rating, with a 60,000 cycle electrical life, and is 3 pole as well

I tried a solenoid for a Western plow system....not sure what the duty rating was but it lasted all of 10 min and fried. I called around today locally trying to find a solenoid that would work, and after calling several different venders and getting companies to try I found one that I thought would work.
What I got was a solenoid for an Arctic plow system. The solenoid is made by Trombetta and the # 634-1261-212. It's stats are 150 amp constant duty rating, with a 800 amp surge threshold, and is a 3 pole unit as well.

Seemed pretty close to what I needed so took a gamble on it....needed to get Sno-ball back up and running ASAP! Only issue was with the mounting bracket since it was curved. Had to straighten the tangs on each side, then file out the slot for the bolt since it was for maybe a 5/16 bolt and mine were 3/8. Hooked up the wiring and it works great...spent almost 2 hours clearing the driveway and yard this evening and it never missed a beat!

Her next car will have AWD or 4wd....
Yup found the solenoid locally...and for $40 worth every penny....
Was nice and cold last night...about -8*C and we got about 8-10" of nice fluffy snow last night, then it decided to warm the frick up to about +5 today...what the heck!! Regardless I had a bunch of plowing to do today.
Pics to prove it...

Ol' Sno-Ball is gonna need some love though, the water pump started leaking and then it started dropping tranny fluid on the ground every time I plowed forward, then paused while lifting the blade, then starting to back up. Thought it might just be a loose hose clamp, or fitting on one of the cooler lines but when I crawled under the truck it didn't leak....put it in gear and started leaking from the bell housing, guess the pump seal is toast.
Because of the cold ground and then the melting snow the yard started to turn into a skating rink, Sno-Ball got stuck once and had to grab Patches to pull it to new ground. So decided to use the Old Case Skid Steer....but it was a littel buried.

Plugged the block heater in to warm it up while I was digging it out, then had to wrestle the chains on the tires. Went to fire it up and all I got was a clunk, clunk at the starter, gave it a couple hammer blows but still wouldn't turn over. Just sat there and twisted the key for a minute of two and it eventually turned over and fired up. Guess a starter rebuild is in the future.
