Nice score on the Sno Commander! I looked at a late 70's Sno Commander truck a while back but it was a total rot bucket. Made my truck look good.

Nice score. Any rot? U joints in good shape?

Always wanted a RC, but oliver took mine...
Lol
Thanks for the info on the plow maker....thought you might have an inkling as to it's make.

Will have to replace one of the quick connectors...it's leaking, and of course service the whole unit. Will be making sure it's up to snuff before winter rolls in.

Body is in great shape...small amount of rot just rear of the driver door...in the rocker. That appears to be it. The U-joints all seemed good, needs a couple tie rods from my quick initial look.

.
99% sure it is a Meyer E47 pump, but unfortunately (to me) it looks like it's mounted backwards on the truck mount. Since I'm not very familiar with the meyer setups, I could be wrong. The pump electric motor is usually on the other side (passenger) as seen in this picture. The solenoids are usually on the drivers side. It's possible that it doesn't matter at all. I'm sure Plowsite can help you out either way. If you google Meyer E47 you will find many photos of how it's mounted, vs the two pics below of your truck.

Check this out... Meyer E-47.com - Meyer E-47 Snow Plow Pump Information, Parts Diagrams, and Tech Help

I think there is a filter in there, that if installed towards the back, isn't being utilized properly.... again, I could be wrong..

Either way, again....Great score...... I've been thinking of doing the same picking up a RC myself.

Nice ride and the view is crazy. Glad we have all these RC builds going.

Was the 85 tailgate fiberglass? Curious.

Now you've got some explaining to do.

What's with the turkey?

I was trying to figure what that was on the dash...
Maybe it is some sort of Canadian happy meal toy?

All RC's utilized fiberglass lift gates, no matter the year.

Cows I am very jealous of you Western and Southern guys. Anything used to plow in my neck of the woods from that era or back has nothing left today. Only things not rotted are the headlights and tires.

His name is Terri...Terri the Turkey. And in the corner by the pillar gauges is his friend Larry...Larry the Lady Bug. They are a Spanish/South American bobble head creatures made from some sort of nut? And then hand painted.

When we were up to PG in February for my Brother in-law wedding, which was a Spanish themed wedding, they had these creatures on all the place settings.....there were everything from Turkeys to Armadillos. I saved these two for my driving entertainment....

I ordered all the goodies for a full tranny rebuild yesterday. Since the tranny is cooked....I will be doing the full master HD rebuild on it, plus new torque converter. I will also be adding a super duper external tranny fluid cooler....with thermostat and electric cooling fan.
