Problems

ok i think my timing is off. when i start it up hit the go peddle it sounds like its gonna cut out. also goin from second to third gear it sounds likes its gonna die. what could be the problem?

I actually don't know what a prime lock is, but I'd agree that the problem could be timing. Does it only do it while you're in gear, or when you are idling as well. Does it do it under the normal operational load from 1st to 2nd. any long lagging when you're getting going? You could check and set the timing as a start.

It could be a fuel problem as well, or even a shutdown solenoid(which I guess is a fuel problem). When my sds wire was getting loose I had the usual cutting out, but also had the syptoms you were describing, loss of power, feels like it's dying etc. You could clean up the wire as a precaution, and do the fuel filter as suggested above.

If you do all of this yourself, you'll be out a couple of hours and about ten dollars. Not too bad eh.

ok changed the filter tweaked the pump a lil and i think that solved the problem. but i do have a question how in the wolrd do you turn up the power screw i cant get the the little buger correct me if im wrong but its the lil screw of the left (lookin at the window) near the block?
