So I pulled the pan today and.... The truck and tranny (727) has 400k kms so that's about 240k miles. Here's what the oil/fillings looked like


The oil is pretty black and a few swirls around the bottom with the magnetic screwdriver yielded that. I found a pocket of filings in one corner where it felt like mud. What does this mean? Should I just look for a new used one or rebuild this one?

 

Rebuild it. There are some good 727 books available, you can do it yourself.

 

That's what I was thinking too Dave but it's good to hear it from someone else.
Can anyone recomend or float me a book??
