Powerstroke Intercooler Fits!

Didn't even have to take the brush guard or bumper off. Well I had to loosen the brush guard and tilt it forward a little.

It not only fits:

1) It fits with the valence trimmed only slightly, maybe a half inch taken off at two places about 6 inches long
2) With the grill untouched - no alteration required whatsoever.
3) It fits with the core support brace intact, save for the little front piece. The main brace never moverd, no hood pinning or other PITA hoops to jump through on that account.

It's really tight, but it all fits. Spent alot of time walking back and forth with a tape measure in one hand and a puzzled look on my face. The main things I did differently than Wanna was recess the AC condenser a little further in and utilize the PS IC mounts differently. The bottom is also actually mounted. This enabled me to get it in there deep enough for the gril to go back on.

Tomorrow I'll be fabbing up the bits for the mounts and finishing it. I'll take pics and get them posted tommorow night.

Sweet. After riding around in Greg's rig today (and towing my '92 Ferd) I am thinking about finding a PS IC and stuffing in. The temps are so different, and resonable!

Can't wait to see the pics. Is there a noticable difference between the stocker and the Ferd?

So did you mount the ac condenser between the IC and the radiator?

I'd like to see the final results, i've got a PS IC to put in, where abouts are you ACE?

Yes, the condenser is now in the middle. That PS IC really dwarfs the stocker. I'd guess it has at least triple the heat transfer capacity, if not more.

AP - I'm about 25 miles north of Denver, Frederick.

Time to get out there and finish it up...
