pin grinding

pin grinding

how do you grin your fuel pin, and how hard is it to do, im sure i have all the tools just need a little guidence, also what is the plastic washer every1 is saying to shave, is it the off white plastic one that goes in under the fuel pin?

Here's mine and a stocker for comparison. Mine is actually too deep, but something in that neighborhood will work. I don't see the point in shaving the washer...I just cut the cone deeper sooner

what do you mean by too deep, and would this make any egt problem, being the only thing on the pump modded was the pin turned

Too deep can cause the fuel pin, not the cone which is the piece that you grind, the fuel pin is what pops out and rides against the ground cone... can cause it to pop out too far and cause the o-ring that is around it to leak, filling your AFC top/housing with diesel fuel and leak out the vent.

Exactly Funny thing is, mine doesn't leak. When I had the pump top off last, I pushed the cone to the bottom and pushed the pin in via the AFC linkage and it bottomed out well before the profile of my cone contacted the pin.

seems pretty simpile, im good w/ my hands and have all the tools needed, should i give it a shot!

Just find a pic of the high dollar cone and copy. I use a die grinder, you can also use a dremel tool.

go onto a site like bullydog.com and look for the power pin under mech performance and there is a pic of theres, like the old smokey just a copy.
