picked up a nice HX35W

I got my hands on an HX35w in good shape last week. I'm hoping to spool more quickly for now and either build up the HIC more while it's off or sell it and go crazy with the credit card at HTT. The 16 cm is way better than the 21 cm but need an even faster spool.

Pull the 12cm off the HX and drill the wastegate divider, and do some inlet porting while you're there--it does make a difference. Then bolt it back together and put the wole mess on the truck...without the silencer ring, of course Should be a pretty fun setup. You could have HTT do up your H1C, but if your credit limit permits, you might as well spend the $$ on a new air packer and be done with it.

You are gonna love that turbo. The spoolup and the sound can't be beat.

The compressor wheel on the hx35 is taller and has a bigger Dia then your early H1C... If you are going to spend money upgrading.. up grade the hx35.. The exhaust housings will swap...

Just remember, the HX-35 will only accept up to the HTT stage III, whereas the H1C or WH1C's can be modded to accept the stage IV compressor wheel and housing...of course, none of this changes the fact that my turbo is still lame

ha ha.

So im back in teh market now for further bombing of the retired tow rig. I think it will be a faily simple swap out of the h1c/16 to a hx35/12, will there be a noticable difference? I think id should be a lil more peppy light to light with teh 12cm and the hx will let it sing alot more too..

im looking at getting into this for now more than 400 bucks.

Jimmy, for your use I would suggest just getting a compressor kit from HTT. It will flow more air than an HX-35, and cost you less, too.

You will find the 12 cm housing too small for the POD's. Stick with the 16 cm, they work real well on automatics.

I think this will turn out to be a real nice upgrade as I only have $150 in the HX35W. I will see how much fuel I can run before EGT's go crazy. I do some sled pulling in the "stock" class so the quicker spool will be very helpful . I hear 40 psi is the supposed safe limit for boost on the HX35W? Anybody have a clue as to what will happen to my EGT's if I drop the HX35W on now without any other changes, I max. out 950 F post turbo now at 30 psi.

I put a plate in my friends 98 12v 5 speed and boy does an HX35W whistle at 37psi! The pyro just swings around like a punching bag every time you stab the loud pedal. It was not so fun when we ripped the center out of the stock clutch disk .

Really? I figured it would go up! Thats great, I can fuel up to accomodate after I install it.

Hey wanna, since your online.... Do you know what the maximum amount of material that can be hacked out of the fuel pin before the sliding rod runs out of travel or fuel starts leaking? Pins are expensive! I might just make a new custom one instead of trying to reshape the stocker. Then again maybe just buy the original old smokey pin, not a bullyknockoff, can I get it direct from him?
