? People with stacks and a over the rail tool box ?

I am going to be swapping beds on my truck this weekend and I want to put my tool box back in. The problem is I don't want to have to drill two sets of holes to bolt the tool box down so I was wondering if you can give me some measurements of how far your box is mounted from the bulk head. I have a set of 5" turn outs and am going to be building a 6x4 box for the stack plumbing, but I can't put them on right away due to lack of material for the plumbing. Any ideas would be a huge help.

Thanks

Mount the box with j-hooks. Foam tape on the bottom edge of the box and a set of j-hooks will hold it just fine, mine has never moved.

Dave where did you get the j-hooks from and how long do they need to be.

The J-hooks came with the bed box. They need to be long enough to hook under the bed rail and come up into the box, so not long at all. Get fender washers for under the nuts, too.

If your local hardware store doesn't have them, McMaster-Carr #9491T16 looks to be about right. My box is held by one on each side, but two per side wouldn't hurt.

You can also use the two piece C-clamps used for camper shells, just remove the top piece of the clamp and run the bolt from bottom to top where the nut is in the inside of the box (can keep people from removing your box for you). I did this to one of my boxes, the other has J hooks.

has anyone on here put two holes in the box for the stacks? thinking of doing that so the pipe isnt doing to get dented by anything. another problem, the box crossmember is right in the way of the stacks. do you have to cut through that??

It is possible but the problem is the driver side stack tubes will be way close to the fuel tank. And depending on how you want to mount your pipes, yes and no. I like mine as close as possible to the front corners of the box, so for me, yes, gotta cut through the bed crossmember.
