Pass. door lock only works with door handle!
My passenger door lock only operates correctly when the outside handle button is depressed. I have power locks and the unlock function works correctly, but I can only lock the door if I depress the outside handle and push the lock down at the same time. Manually locking the door this way is getting old.
Is this correct??
Is there any way to change this function?
Thanks

Are your front doors 1977 vintage? If so then it might be just the way they were designed to function. My late 60's and early 70's mopars all had the same function, depress drivers outside door button, then lock the inside button and hold the the outside button until the door was latched. A mechanical safety feature so you were less likely to lock you keys in the vehicle.
Perhaps getting door latch mechanisms from a 90's truck would probably give you the function you desire.
