Painting the Turbine Housing

I'm thinking of sand blasting and painting my new to me 14cm WG turbine housing. I'm thinking of using BBQ Grill paint, or maybe powder coating it. I've heard pretty mixed reviews about VHT paint. Ceramic coating is not really an option due to cost. Or I can just embrace the rust.
What are your guys thoughts or results?

Powder coating will just cook off. And BBq paint will last for a while, but will eventually cook off as well. I would use Eastwoods exhaust manifold paint. I've been using that stuff on my mopar HP manifolds for 20+ years. Holds up really well if the casting is really clean. Might have to redo it every 3 years or so.

Cerakoat, your friendly powder coater should be able to apply it for you. More or less a really high temp powder coat.

Home A bazillion colors and an applicator locator tool
I'd say a housing would cost 20-50$

Back when I worked in automotive, one of the guys in the shop got headers and an EFI intake 'ceramic coated' at local powdercoat shop. Sorta looks like a dull chrome or bright aluminum finish. Don't know temperature limit though. Maybe check a few powdercoat shops? Must be readily available....

I used high temp BBQ paint when I redid my head gasket a couple years ago. Looked good for the first coupla hundred miles but now looks like a rusty turbo with BBQ paint on it... I can't remember how I prepped the metal so its probably my fault not the paint.

I recently painted my exhause manifold with rustoleum high temp paint, I got it at Lowe's. Primer and paint are both 2,000 degree paint. You have to read the instructions and follow them, tho... I had to bake it in my grill for a few hours. It's been on a couple of months and still looks great.

I always wondered how good that stuff worked.

I had a set of headers that were factory ceramic coated on the '71 Demon that I had. The coating didn't last that long but that was 15years ago.
I might look into the Rustoleum High temp paint. I'll ask my cousin's buddy who does powder coating about the Cerakoat. He's done a couple things for me and has never accepted my $ yet because he's "not a professional".
Thanks for the help so far guys!

I used this rattle can paint called Cast Blast on some bike headers once. Pretty much a waste of time and money.
