Turbine housing upgrade?

I was wondering if a larger turbo housing on my truck would be benificial. I would NOT get one untill I got my Edge Comp and a set of mild injectors installed. Im wanting the truck to have around 350-400hp. I have at a HX35 right? What size housing do I currently have and which one should I upgrade too? Also should I look for a one with a wastegate or not? I'm building my truck on a budget so I can not afford a complete turbo upgrade. I think a Comp Box and some 275's or some DD 1s could benefit from a larger housing. Tell me what yall think.....

Your stock 35 has a 12Wastegated housing on it. If you're wanting to stick with the HX35 the 14W housing would be the best upgrade but its **** near $400. I've run a 12W, 16, 18.5 and 21 on my truck when I had 370's. I liked the 18.5 but I could still make upwards of 45psi which is way to much boost for a factory HX35. The 21 was pretty laggy and by the time it really spooled EGT's were already past 1200*.

I'm not sure which would be more benificial keeping the stock 12w housing with an upgraded compressor side form HTT or throwing a 14w housing on a otherwise stock turbo. Tryin to decide this myself right now. The stage3 compressor upgrade and a 14w housing would be the best of both worlds and would work for 400hp on a 24valve.

I wouldnt mind trying an external wastegate with the 18.5 housing

you could drill the wastgate hole out larger and drill through the divider so all 6 cylinders would be wastegated and it would help top end

A nice set of injector nozzles, your comp and you will be quite pleased with a non gated 14.
The 14 non gated is cheap at around $180.

What are the pros and cons of having a wastegated turbo? Also my truck is an Auto, if that makes any difference on wether or not I should run a wastegate or not.

Wastegates allow you to keep the turbo in its efficiency range. With those mods and a non wastegated housing you'll almost surely push the turbo out of its MAP. Which increases the temperature of the air going into the engine, and may overspeed the turbo, both of which are bad.

Oh yeah, another benifit of being able to control peak boost with a wastegated housing is you can also limit....well better control drive pressure.
