Overfilling the getrag 360?

I'm about to go and drop the fluid out of my tranny and overfill it with new synthetic mobil 5W30. My question is can I put all 4.5 quarts through the shifter hole?

Thanks

SURE, I believe I put 5 in mine. I used the 90* elbow trick but it's too
slow tryin to squeeze all the bottles so I pour it in thru the shift tower.

Getrag 360

I did this last weekend, after draining out oil. I opted to fill (5qts mobil 5w30)by removing shifter. The biggest problem was pressing down on "shifter" with my chest until i could get the clip in place, i had to use modified needle nose, my retainer pliers would not open enough to hold clip. Also, i let the "shifter forks" (not sure about name) get non-aligned and that created a bit of a hassle, i didnt know until i put everything back together & tried to shift..My other option of re-filling was to use a 8oz hand pump oil can....

I used to fill it to the hole, then load up the suction gun and blow one more quart in, its a bit messy, but easier than trying to get that darn shift lever held down.

Now I just use the tranny cooler pump to suck it in....
