Over reving pump

Just a question I have had for a while, does holding the RPMs at the defueling point cause any damage or extra wear on the VE pump? what if you do it all the time like when towing to avoid using OD. Mine defuels at about 55 or 60 in third with pedal @70% or so.

It's a Cummins and it's got a governor. Run it there all day long as long as your temps stay in check, trans, water, egt.

Ok good to know, The governor is the part I was worried about, I was just wondering because on an old dt466 I used to drive the gov weights broke and killed the pump. The tech that fixed it said it was from pushing it against the governed speed all the time and letting it over rev when going down the mountains in too low of a gear. Our pumps don't mind I take it.

Never heard of that happening to a VE pump.
