white smoke & not reving

i got a newer truck 2 months ago its the 2001 24V automatic. its a great truck but right off the bat i noticed when i start the truck in the morning or if it has sat for 2 hours or more it will sit and white smoke like crazy. it also wont rev up or take off very fast. white smoke is caused by not enough fuel i heard and i talked to ppl they said i need a new lift pump. so i put on a new lift pump and bigger banjo bolts to help it out well it didnt fix anything. after it runs for 10 min the truck will take off like nothing is wrong but it will white smoke if i sit there and rev it up and keep into it. WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT thanks

Sounds like your getting air into the system some how. You need to check your lines to make sure there are no leaks at all, wash them down and then check them.

If the lift pump has been bad for awile you could of toasted your inj pump and its just on its last legs.

Pull the codes and post back with your results.

cycling the key ON OFF ON OFF ON then reading the codes on the odometer.

Sorry but that's the kiss of death code. You need a new injection pump. Time to upgrade to a race pump.

I think Piers Diesel Research carries them and they cost I think a couple hundred more than a factory VP44. They also come with a one year warranty. Do a search for Hi-Flo VP44 and you should turn up some stuff.
