Old Smokey BHAF Mount Sticky ??

IS that it for the AF mount? Just leave it hanging out there sucking up hot air in the engine compartment or is there something I'm missing? What would be the advantage? This bracket is easily built, and would look cool and all, but is there something else? Thanx, H.

diamondplate. with a 90 degree bend to run from the fender out a few inches then 90 degree bend down to the inner wheel well. looks cool and the factory air scoop will put some air in the area behind the diamondplate and run the filter on the inside of the diamondplate towards the fender and it will be concealed. someone will post pics. i spoke what was in my head so it may not make sense. lol

It's there mainly as a drip guard. I agree that it's not optimum (even though I have one of the last genuine Old Smokey BHAF mounts on my truck - can you say "collector's item?" ). Check out BC847's stock pot air box thread for a better system.
