OK, Truck's Back. Got Gauges. Numbers????

Thanx to Chris at HDR Diesel in ABQ (and to USMCRifleman for the recommendation) my truck is back. At 97k miles it got a new head gasket, KDP fixed, timing up a hair, Autometer Phantom GAUGES. 120 mile trip home, boost never topped 17 PSI foot to the floor. EGT runs 400 to 1000, very quick response. Tranny temp warmed up to and sat at 155 the whole trip. Are these typical numbers? Thanx, H.

Where is your trans temp sensor located? 155º is a little cool to be coming directly off the pump...so I'm assuming it's in the pan? If so, 155º in the pan is fine. I'm just not a fan of having the sensor there.

Glad to hear the truck is runnin' good for ya again!

In much fewer words... yes. They designed the motor to power a generator at a constant rpm. Until Jack Roush thought it was a good idea to put one in a truck. I doubt they changed much in the manufacturing process until years later.
