Oil Pressure Gauge Questions

For oil-pressure gauge, which is best, electrical or mechanical??

I prefer mechanical.

There are two ranges available > 0psi to 100psi < and > 0psi to 200psi <

Which suits the needs of the Cummins??

What type of tubing is used to replace the brittle plastic tube that is usually supplied with mechanical oil-pressure gauges?? brake-line tubing??

Thanks.

I have the mechanical and it goes to 100psi, which I would imagine would be plenty since mine only goes up to 70 at the very most and that is when it is cold usually stays around 50-60 range.

Plain jane plastic oil pressure tubing/boost tubing is fine. Just run it in some flex tubing around the engine back to the 2" gromet in the firewall.

If I were to do it again, ELECTRICAL. No more messing with leaks, trying to tighten the fitting at the oil filter mount, cause it keeps leaking etc etc.

0-100psi is the correct range. COLD + throttle you'll see anywhere from 65-100psi, usually not that high, but possible. Warm cruise 45-55psi, warm idle 20-35psi. Cold idle 60-70psi.
