My oil pressure gauge is so vague I don't think I could tell the difference.

The best filters out there as far as filtering out the most stuff would have to be the Donaldson ELF filters, with the Fleetguard Stratapores coming in a close second (at 2/3rds the price).

Exclamation Oil Pressure Drop On Excelaration

Ok i`m going to change the filter , I think it is pluged and bypass isn`t working properly.

Just returned from a 1,500 + Mi . run the last 50 miles gage started acting funny, on exceleration pressure would drop dremadicly , as soon as you leveled off at any sppd pressure would return to normal, I checked oil its full.

Any ideas other than the one i had ?

Engine sounds normal runs good full power, and i have no mods on engine.

Is this the factory gauge?

You know you can pull the bypass valve out and check it over very easily, right?

Just forward of the filter there's a "bolt" sticking straight up, back that out and you can lift out the pressure spring and piston. You should be able to get the piston out by sticking your finger down in it. If you can't it's stuck - as you already suspect.
