nv 4500 2wheel too 4wheel
nv 4500 2wheel too 4wheel
i saw an ad yesterday for a nv 4500 out of a two wheel drive dodge. wondered how much it would take to convert it to a four wheel drive install.? out put shaft and rear extention housing? and what does it run for shaft and housing i would like one in my 1st gen behind a cummins. did dodge put a different trans in the gassers? just don't want to get stung dragging something home.
so there is a difference. is it tagged hd and where would the tag be. is the input splines bigger i could measure the hub on the clutch i just changed on my brothers nv4500hd. saw this one for 400 bucks figured it would make a good core.
The out put shaft is actualy your main shaft and it would have to be changed out you can do it or have it done, Standerd Transmissions in Texas has Fully splined (5th gear) about as cheep as a stock $290 one look them up on the web. then you need the rear tail housing they have a steal one insted of the allum for $150. the input is also larger on the diesel cant remember what size. you will also need to convert your bell housing to fit ( I can help you with this), get an Advanced Adapter bell that cost a bit ot change to a 2nd gen fly wheel housing, starter, clutch fork, slave, and line. It can cost a little or a lot. PM me for more. Ive done 6
1stgen545- do you have a source for stonger 1st gen clutch hydrualics? i swapped in a nv4500 with SB Con Ofe clutch and the hydraulics aren't stong enough to disengage fully. i've been told that new stock ones would cure the problem but i'd love to upgrade if there is something out there. have you ever run into this problem?
