Bye Bye 2wheel drive!
Its Been six enjoyable years with my 95 2wd auto. Lots of good times, but with time comes change. I bombed it 2 years ago and have been drag'n since. My handicap of having to put in 500 lbs when I race SUCKS! I am now able to purchace another 12v with 4wd.I will swap all mods including my DTT trans parts thanks to Greg Long at Great Lakes Diesel Works, Holly,Mi.
I am Verry excited to be launching at 25lbs of boost instead of 2lbs. Ha Ha. Well at least I got two years under my belt at our local drag way Osceola IN. I was able to particapate at Terre Haute 2003 DHRA and Both Terre Haute and Muncie In. DHRA races last year 2004. I now have two sponsors for the 2005 season.
I hear that changing to 4wd launches can improve my 1/4 mi times by .5 to 7/10ths. Is This About right?
Counting down to IRP in June!
It will be sad to sell my 2wd after switching mods over, but i know racing this year will be the BEST!

4wd should be 10 times better. I know how it is cause when i ran at the strip I ran in 2wd in the 1/8th, and with 2lbs of boost, even without the GSK i would light them up leaving the line. Next time i go i should be able to run low 10's hopefully since i now have the GSK, and will use the 4wd to my advantage next time for sure. 4wd makes a big difference coming off the line.

My 2500 slides and spins 6 ways from Sunday when I try to launch at the track.......but that was in 2WD......I was scared to do 4WD launches because of the lack of billet shafts in the tranny but when the weather clears up I'm going back to the track to try some 4WD launches anyway
........I have been trying some 4WD launches on the street and it is awesome!!
Sure, slicks on a 2WD will make a huge difference but I am not into drag racing enough to justify the costs of very exspensive slicks and another set of wheels........ladder bars and suspension mods are usually required to make the best use of the slicks too.
