np205 front output problem

I was under the truck tonight and found that the front output shaft of my t-case has a significant amount of play vertical as well as probably .050" endplay. I just put the front drive shaft on a couple weeks ago, and everything was tight. I only drove with the hubs locked in for maybe 10 miles, and in 4X4 for only a mile or so. Anything above 35 with the hubs locked vibrates a lot because of the steep diveline angle. Do you think I could have killed the output bearings that quickly? thrust washers? I'm going wheelin this weekend at roush creek, so i really need the 4X4. Will the t-case be alright, or will I hurt it even more?

Mine has the same play as well in the front flange. I have not had a chance to see whats causing it. I'm taking a guess its the nut that holds it on is just loose.

Yes, its clearanced enough to turn without binding, but the angle so steep that it still vibrates.

I was hoping the same, but I took the flange off last night and re torqued it, but the play is the same. Any other ideas?

I had the same prob when I first got my truck. I had to tighten up the nut holding the flange on. No prob since. Check your splines to see if there worn, if not its prob a bearing issue.
