np205 output shaft bearing??

Does anybody know if you can replace the output shaft bearing without ripping to far into the case?? My rear yoke has got some side to side up/down play and I think the bearing is worn inside.. It is leaking pretty good from the seal and the seal was just replaced..I also have a little grove in the yoke, but I am gonna fix that..But the slop I think shouldn't be there..I grabbed the one on my other truck and it was tight compared to this one.. So any ideas, have't ever ripped into the case and don't want to go to far if I don't have too.. thanks

You can replace the bearing without getting into the case, just remove the yoke, and the aluminum retainer on the back of the case and the bearing slides right out.

I had a lot of play in mine, replaced the bearing but it didn't help. Finally got bad enough that the truck was not drivable due to vibration. Turns out I needed both the input and rear output shafts and all the bearings in between. There was wear at the center bearing which let the output shaft wobble. Grab your drive shaft and push it up and down. If it's straight up and down play it's most likely the bearing. If it looks like the yoke is pivoting where the bearing is you may have to get in a little deeper.
