thanks for the replies! as far as egt's when i was pushing 20lbs i was climbing 1200+ my exhaust housing is the 18.5 i have a 12cm it doesn't have the back plate that the exhaust bolts to and i thought it was just to small for my app. so i haven't done much. like richie o said im at sea level. again i always thought something was up with my truck, i can't even spin the tires! not that i really want to i just figured it should do it easily. i just assumed my converter was shot and after i got the tranny freshened up then i would see where i stood as far as seat of the pants power. i was pretty shocked when i saw hooked up the gauge. im going to look for boost leaks today. should i take all the boots off the reinstall?

The only way to check for boost leaks in the whole system is to pressure test the whole intake system from turbo to engine by adding compressed air to turbo inlet. There must be a thread explaining what to do. If you can't find it let us know. Someone will work you through it.

I don't think you have a leak.

I know I don't have a leak. I took it loose at the turbo and the intake and pressure checked to 35psi and left it on there for a couple of hours with no drop in pressure. I was surprised that I had 0 pressure loss. Just need to change out turbo, trans, sticks, and lift pump. When a Goat gets passed by a stock chevy hd 6.5 turbo it's time to park it or fix it.

I think you need to upgrade the tranny and TC. That is more than likely the problem.
