No start after running out of fuel??

I was driving home from work with about 1/8 of a tank. When the light turned green I pushed the go button a little too hard I suppose and took off. right after that my truck lost ALL of it's power then turned off..

I have bled all the lines over and over from LP to injectors, replaced my LP and fuel filter. All it does is turn over but if I give it about 3/4 throttle, it'll fire right up. At full throttle, my rpm is a little under 1000. I have made sure that there is no blockage in the lines from LP to tank. Right now my EGT only hits 300 at WOT when it used to idle at 450 or so. Could it be my injectors?

take a look at the fuel shut off solanoid, mabe that blew apart as mine did and caused the same problem, the rubber got sucked into the pump. and then it limited fueling causing it to only rev a little.

Awesome, that is the only thing I haven't checked. I feel kinda stupid but where is the fuel shutoff and if some rubber did get sucked in how hard would it be to retrieve? Is it the horizontal tube like thing sticking off the fender side of the pump or what. I have been hitting myself for about two weeks trying to figure this out. I really apreciate the help.

the shut off solenoid is on the back side of the pump next to the full fuel screw. Make sure it has power to it. if not, it will crank forever and not start. it is common for one of these wires to come loose and cause all sorts of trouble. if the rubber comes off, as far as i know, it gets eaten by the pump and hopefully never seen again. Thats what happened on mine anyways. Besides the ksb (Cold start thing on the front/side of the pump), the shutoff solenoid is the only part of the pump with wires running to it.

Alright, while I was running it I pulled the shut-off wire off and the motor tried to quit but came back to life when I reattached it so it's no electrical. what do I disassemble to see if I ate rubber and if I did, how do I fix it. any pics of it?

I know that it is getting at least a little fuel while it's cranking because it rocks the entire truck like an SOB.

u might have sucked part of the plunger. it could be getting some fuel but not enough to start if its unplugged. to check for damage, just pull off the solenoid and look for missing pieces of rubber. here is a link 2 the fix. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=117593

mine ate the intire thing and got stuck in the pump haha it wasent good at all, i had to pull the pump off the truck and then remove the block at the back of the pump where the lines are to remove all the rubber. in each little valve, wasent hard just a pain. but my truck also did the same thing just kept cranking and cranking and shakin away but wouldent fire and if it did it would not be for long

and if you want you could also install the pull cable shut off. it hooks to the lever on the side of the pump and u shut it off manually inside the cab, but that depends on if you decide to fix the plunger and it does it again or just dont mind gutting the solanoid and using the pull cable set up.

haven't checked the plunger yet because i've been real busy but a buddy that I work with gave me an old pull cable so I'll gut the solenoid, check for debris and call it good. BTW could pieces of rubber get all the way up to the injector because when I pull the line all the way off, it seems like the fuel just isn't getting past the injector.

where i had mine stuck was on the rear of the pump, in the piece where all the fuel lines comes from, if you remove the line and then un thread the 6 little valves, becareful not to drop the small pieces inside and remove the spring inside each one and the little metal piece in each one also, inside ull see rubber , very tiny pieces. this is most likly what you will have to do, just removeing and gutting the solanoid will not stop the problem it's gotten to the inside of the pump. and yes the can get to the injector also, you can pull one that you know isent firing and get it pop tested, or see if you can clean it out some how.
