No sound on Flasher/turn signals?

Hi all, when i use the flasher/turn signal, it lights up, but there's no sound. Does this mean i need a new flasher or did somebody just unplug it?
Also, i'm wondering if i need a heavy duty unit for towing? I'll be towing a 16 foot trailer with front/side/rear lights.
Thanks
Brent

If the signal on that dash isn't flashing then its most likely the flasher. BUT I have the same problem with my pickup when I've been driving it for about longer then an hour (only does it when its warm) but when I first start it up its always fine. I've tried 3 different flashers and still have the problem.
Good Luck

Flasher.

When the flasher stopped working om truck some years back I tried a couple of Auto part houses brand and could never get them to work. I hate say it but the only one that worked was a new one from the dealer.

Flasher works, but just doesn't make a clicking sound.

Are you sure the Cummins isn't masking it?

you could try putting your hand on the flasher with the signal going and feel if it is clicking

The square box on the left is the flasher I use for both hazard and turn signal, they thump the floor and you can hear them over the Cummins.
And it seems to have a good MTBF like the Cummins.

If it works, leave it.
If it flashes fast when you connect to the trailer or don't flash at all, then change it to a heavy duty flasher.
Flashers are LOAD SENSITIVE. The higher the load in the circuit, the more heat on the bi-metalic strip and the faster it works.

If you got a quiet one......bonus! It just means you can listen more to the sweet sound of a CUMMINS...............
