To much power for stock trans?

To much power for stock trans?

I plan on bumping timing, getting a 3200 gov spring, smokeys fuel pin, and pod injectors, ive got a 3spd od trans what do u guys think, and if i had to upgrade i was thinkin auto

look at my sig. my 1990 trans is bone stock other than i ran amsoil in it since new. verylittle towing but lots of short WOT blasts IMHO ithink they do a very good job for what it was originally designed for. and im sure the oil had alot to do with its long life.

Puff, that sounds like a good plan. Get the gages first, so you know what's happening as you upgrade, then upgrade the trans so it will handle the power, then jump on the rest.

All depends on your right foot and will power. I put 50k on a 518 at around 300 hp and wasn't babying it. You will find out the meaning of a sloppy converter once the upgrades are done though. Set your TV cable tight and keep the revs up for OD shifts and you will be good for a while. Have fun.

You're going to have way too much fun so it's likely you are also gonna beat that ole tranny to death....
If you want an objective way to keep track, install a trans temp gauge and watch what it does when you wail on 'er.....

run it. If it dies after 2 years then get a bad dude trany. if it aint broke dont fix it....
