Turned the full fuel screw in 2 turns, ran the star wheel about 3 turns up, wow big difference, from a rolling start mash the throttle big puff of black, turbo starts spooling, it clears up but still a light trail of blackish smoke. I'm pretty sure to completely get the smoke to clear I will have to put my hx35w on it. I'm thinking the a518 is not going to like these changes!

Just be sure to follow the instructions on the spring bag. Don't wear a suit when you install the spring.

Vernon, did you by chance back that smoke screw all the way out? It's the Allen type screw that's on top of the AFC cover, hidden by a metal cap. Unthread that screw all the way counterclockwise till it is flush with the underside of the AFC cover.
Here's a pic of mine, with the screw actually just under flush, and I also opened up the boost air channels a bit, in hopes of shoving more air evenly on top of that diaphragm. Some folks get rid of that entire "rim" by use of a dremmel, but I don't own one.

Why not wear a suit? Did I miss something?

LOL! Good catch, Mark!
When you get your AFC opened up again for tuning, let me know if you HD pin is developing a groove on the ramp. I remember someone saying the HD pin is the only pin that doesn't groove.

I actually put my BD pin back in, for my truck at this point it seems more responsive at the lower throttle settings BUT it is way smokier than the THD pin. Both pins do not have a groove, I will get some better pics tonite of both pins and post them. this weekend I hope to put the other turbo on then it will be back to the drawing board as far as tuning goes.
Mark, sometimes I think you have waay to much time on your hands LOL. that was a very good catch BTW
