When I purchased my current brick, and sold the old brick, the first thing I did was to remove and toss out the old carpet and padding.
The old brick's floor was rotted out because of the carpet holding water underneath it. The new brick was from a rust free state, and I wasn't about to let these leaky old trucks ruin my new investment. I installed, easily removable rubber mats and after each rain, I simply lift up and inspect. If it's wet, the mat simply pulls out and I dry out the metal floorboards. If it's not wet, I just hop in and enjoy the ride.
Good find, and I guess if you have a garage kept truck, it would be nice to have.
