Need some help
My lovely sister and her wonderful husband borrowed my '91 from my wife for two weeks and ran it out of fuel twice. I just learned that my brother in law probably used starting fluid to start the truck after he ran it dry. Now, my wife tells me it smokes and has less power. What should I do?
My '93 idles high and surges when idling. Any possible causes?

Sounds like she's pulling air, check the lines and bleeder screws for tightness. I hope he did'nt go can happy with the starter fuild. U can do upper end damage very easy like bend valves and chew out rings. Lets just hope she's pulling air. I feel for Ya
Good luck

Is it posible that there is still air suck in the inj pump that is just copressing the air and not poping the inj?
Bleed all six inj.,if it runs bat at a idle, it its smooth at an idle then i don't think this is the problem..... got my finger crossed for you and hoping for the best!

if it was me, i would ether my brother-in-law. i've heard that the john deere brand has the highest ether percentage by volume. that would be my first pick, but if you don't have a deere dealer near you then use a LOT of the cheap stuff.
actually, it may be worth while to stop right now and get the compression checked. broken rings will eat up cylinders fast (sometimes to the point where repairs require sleeving the cylinder). if compression is low, then i'd say that it's time to at least pull the head and take a look at the cylinder walls. (there shouldn't be pieces of piston ground into them, or your sister's car keys, etc)
