Transmission Questions

I'm still searching for an overdrive automatic transmission for my '89 D250. I have a few questions regarding the different transmissions available for these trucks.

What's the difference between the 46RH and the 47RH? I have been looking around on Jasper at the different transmissions and apparently 91 - 93 trucks had the 46RH, while 94 - 95 had the 47RH. What are the key differences between these two units?

Also, does anyone know of a good source for a used transmission? Jasper transmissions look prohibitively expensive (>$2500) and I'm not sure where else to look besides ebay. Do any of you guys know of junkyards local to you that may have overdrive automatics sitting in them?

This is becoming frustrating, as I chose to change transmissions late into the project (didn't realize extent of the work needed on the 727 until I started poking around with it), and the engine and frame are almost ready to go, but I can't do much else until I have the transmission squared away and installed.

Thanks for your help guys.

Harlan

The 46RH or better known as the A518 is an 4 speed overdrive non-lockup automatic.
The 47RH is pretty much the same as the A518, except for the lockup torque converter and the supporting parts for that feature. Input shaft has different number of splines and its hollow. This trans needs the newer bellhousing adaptor that is thicker by about an inch along with a starter and the other things mentioned in the other post.
