Need More Ponies
Need More Ponies
Hi All,
I need to get some more HP out of my 90 350 w/250k on the engine. I am going to be pulling my 42 toyhauler across the country soon, and I need to bump my truck up. I have turned the fuel pin, and turned up the idle screw. Will a I/C help? Injectors? Turbo? I am not worried about spending a few bucks to get this thing moving. I am running a straight 4" exhaust right now. There was a nice improvement with the few tweaks that I have done, but I need more. All help would be appreciated. Thanx.

Your injectors will push more fuel than you can keep cool without an intercooler. A better turbo (think hybrid) would help a bunch. You will be able to get more power out of the truck with pump tweaks than you can use while towing due to EGT issues.
Stick with the 18.5 cm turbine housing, and get a compressor upgrade kit. Check Peyton Materne's post near the end of this thread for an alternative to HTT.

It will bolt in, you will just need to make a 4" intake duct of some sort.
