Under the hood ponies

Ok I know this has been brought up a million times so bear with me please. I have the 91 CTD, non intercooled 3/4 4x4, that is getting soon a NV4500.

Can anyone tell me how much power I should roughly have if I did the follow to the motor.

1. 3.5 exhaust
2. 16Cm Turbine Housing
3. Prince of Darkness Injectors
4. Something called the Old Smokey Fuel Pin
5. Tune the pump correctly
6. Put on a intercooler
7. New Intake system
8. All the nesseccary gauges.

My questions stems from, the Banks Power Pack is roughly 2500 bones. and according to them gives 70 hp and 240 pounds worth of torque. I would like to have more horespower then a 70 increase. From stock numbers that would only put me at 230 from the 160 stock. I would be fine with the torque numbers which would be 645 from the stock 405.

I already have a intercooler I bought a while back, along with the turbine housing which I am assuming would cost 200 and I seen the injectors for 400. Exhaust I think is around 500. I have no idea how much the Fuel Pin is though. According to my numbers that would be right around 1100 minus the fuel pin.

So can anyone tell me roughly what kind of power I would have with that set up? Any other power add ons for the first gen that I am missing. I am trying to save money by making my own power package and if I bought the banks the intercooler I already have ready would go to display on my shop wall. Any thoughts, comments? I forgot to mention, I would like to have around 300 in Hp. Is that possible?

With what you're talking about doing you would have somewhere around 260 HP at the rear wheels, that's over 300 at the flywheel.

You've just discovered why most people around here spell it "B A N K $".

edit: You can do 4" exhaust for less than $400. I got my syetem from bigexhaust.com. Jimmyctd is running one too.

We aren't supposed to post prices in the forums. Call Dynomite Diesel and ask them. It seems to be worth 25 or so HP at the rear wheels over a stock pin at max depth. It's also supposed to have a more aggressive fueling curve that makes the truck more responsive, so it feels like even more on the SOTP meter. It's on my list.

Iwould guess that with those upgrades you would be somewhere around 275 to 290 RWHP

The 16 CM housing should be less money than what your are thinking. I believe with those mods that a different turbo would be better. I agree with Bob, you should be over 275 to the tires. The old smokey power pin claims about 28 HP to the tires, I could feel the difference when I installed mine.
if you look at my mods below. I dynoed 3 weeks ago at 332.8HP and 794.1 Torque.
Good luck

I didnt think the 4" would fit being squeezed by the frame and motor. I guess I was wrong. Well I guess that settles it then, no Banks. Thanks guys.

Oh, I heard that since my truck in non intercooled that I will need to get a different turbo that is set for the intercooler. If I bought something similiar to "frostie" 's turbo would that be taken care?

Is there any other mods that I am not aware of not mentioned above? Besides tearing into the motor.

I am going to get the NV4500 with the full splined 5th and cast iron transfer case housing. You dont think that would be strong enough or would I need to get a better clutch?

Phew I thought I had to back to the drawing board if it couldnt handle it. Where is a good place to get the H1C turbo? Is that just the housing or the whole turbo?

Well I'll be, I do. Learn something everyday. And by getting the 16cm housing I should be set in the turbo arena? I keep seeing "ball bearing" turbos and waste gated, are these worth the investment?

Would it help to polish the housings if I get bored someday?
