has anyone used napa brakes and rotors on thier first gen. I tow skid steers alot and I need to know if they will hold up.

 

I use almost exclusively Napa products on all my vehicles. I have Napa pads, shoes, rotors, and drums all the way around on my truck right now. Haven't had any problems towing my 5th wheel. Of course, you want to get the best quality they offer. But those often come with a lifetime guarentee as well.

 

Lifetime guarantee at NAPA? Do tell me more. I thought one year was the max, with 5 min/5ft being the norm.

I use Napa stuff alost exclusivly on my truck, among our other vehicles. My truck has napa pads front and rear, napa brake spring kit in the rear, napa wheel cylinders in the rear, so on so forth. I have never had any problem with napa stuff...much better than stuff from advanced auto or auto zone.

I used Napa brakes on my 2001, my old 1993, and my dad uses them on his 1990. We pull skid steers, tractors, dump trailers, etc. I like their brakes, just get the Heavy Duty brakes. I they run $55-$70

I'm still pretty fond of snap on but I have to agree that the special sockets I've gotten from NAPA have all done really well, and none have broken. I've been impressed.

 

I went to get my pads and rotors this morning they had the heavy duty lifetime pads in stock but the rotors were not so they gave me $25.00 discount for the inconvenience. Within about a half hour of being home I got a call saying my rotors were there to be picked up and I only live about 1 mile away as a crow flies so I wasnt out much time or fuel. it was worth the wait for that kind of a discount.

 

Yes, I believe the warentee is lifetime on the best rated pads and shoes. They are a bit more expensive, but I like taking the receipt and used-up part in to my local Napa 5 years later and walking out with a new set of brakes for free! Also, since I buy a considerable number of parts there (for all my vehicles and the vehicles of my friends and parents) the guys there know me and pretty often will give me a considerable discount by running the cash sale through the account of a large auto repair business which often knocks another 10% or 15% off the total bill. I always figure "if the part really matters, get if from Napa." The non-trained people at the local Autozone and Checker just can't seem to figure out what parts go to what...like the rear u-joint on my Dodge...they gave me a tiny one that looked like it should fit a Yugo and insisted "that's what computer says it is."

 

I use NAPA for all of my projects! I recently bought a lift pump that lasted 7000 miles. Common problem as anyone can tell you. I was stuck on the road and didn't have spare. Got it to the closest shop and had it replaced. All that NAPA requested was a copy of the reciept for the replacement and the old pump. With this they gave me my money back! Great Service and great parts!

 

Lifetime warranty brakes? You're saying that you can buy lifetime warranty brakes, and then get them replaced for free at NAPA?

How can they do that? I must be missing something...

 

Napa is good stuff, and Auto Value is pretty good. Auto value has moog for the suspension components.
