Are these hoses a special buy or can I use heater hose. The reason I ask is they are curved.

This one is under the alternator.


This one buy the oil filter. There is another one beside it.


I think you can guess where this one is.


And where would I get them if they are a speciality hose? Don't say dealer.

I priced that top one at the dealer, you don't even want to know what they wanted ok i'll tell you but sit down first. $30.00!!! I laughed and walked out. The normal parts stores won't list them, but they have hoses that are that size with 90deg bends, but the legs wil be different lengths. So I went in there with my old hose and found a pre-bent hose the same size and cut to fit. $5.00 is a much better price.

 

What he said. Just buy hoses with the right bends and cut to fit. Problem is you need a parts counter person who's not a moron.

That's simply a 90 degree molded heater hose. The part number is in the sticky at the top of our forum. Any parts house will have them on hand. They run about 4 bucks each.

By the way, there are 4 of those elbow hoses on an automatic trans truck. I just did all my hoses last month.

 

I posted a while back all the NAPA part numbers for all our hoses, including the pre-bent 90 degree fittings. How do I view all my sent items?

The parts place I went to couldn't find them so I found a double bent 90 and plan to cut it in half. Shaped like an s. Cost $12, so $6 a piece.
I plan to do all 4 plus the other straight peices as well.

 

I found the part number. I was confused, I had found the number on another site (TDR).

It's a Dayco 70001

or a Gates 20388

 

cooling system parts:
1. T-Stat, Cummins Brand 397324
2. Upper radiator hose, NAPA NBH860
3. Lower Hose, NAPA NBH8327
4. 90 degree 5/8" heater hose fittings, need 2 of, NAPA NBH7296

#4 are pre- bent and one end of each of the 90's are longer for trim to fit

 

Thanks man. I'm heading over to Napa tomorrow and pick up some more hoses to replace BEFORE they start to leak at the worst possible time in the worst possible place.

You can get two out of it. It worked on the top hose, so I'll assume it will work on the others.

I got it at Auto Value, which is in southern Alberta. Not sure where else it is.
Part number was 63026 and it's made by Goodyear so you should be able to get then elsewhere. It cost $12.85 can. Hope this helps some others.

Time to get dirty and change the rest.

 

You need four on my truck. Not sure if it's the same for all models or not.

 

Your truck, like mine, needs 4. Auto trans truck have two extra ones due to the heat exchanger on the side of the engine.
