NAPA 1000 CCA battery part #?

If someone here can help me out with the part number I'd appreciate it. I know I've seen it on here before but can't find it now, and searching their site hasn't helped either.

Thanks.

This is the NAPA I use. group 31

I have all hooped ends, and not conventional cable ends. I got tired of the lead ends and their headaches.

I've never seen a 1500 cranking amp battery. That's cool !

Thanks but yikes! $300 for a battery is kind of steep.

Really? It looks as though you have one in your truck . . .
  • Code:
    Cold-Cranking Amps = 950
  • Code:
    CCA Rating Temperature = 0 degrees F
  • Code:
    Battery Temperature = 70 degrees F
  • Code:
Computed New CCA is 1526, a 60.6 percent change.
At least, if this calculator is correct.

Deka used to make an 1100 CCA group 24 battery. They would fit in anything, and more or less, start anything. I believe there are new environmental regulations that have affected the composition of the plates, reducing the cranking capacity of lead acid batteries in general . . .

A good friend of mine suggested a red-top Optima battery. Anyone have an opinion on these?

I do, they are great for positioning other than top up, but, in recent years it seems that the quality has deteriorated somewhat. They don't last like they used to. I paid over 300 bucks for a Sears diehard 1200 cca agm battery. It lasted all of 3 years, literally 1 month after the warranty expired. I have realized that the cheapy 125 dollar battery is the best deal. I am looking at this one:

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Odyssey-B...nals/170413985

Not a bad price, but it just has stud terminals, I would have to deal with that...Mark

I wonder who makes the Die hard batteries. I have had 2 Walmart batteries and 2 orilley batteries. Both have failed right after the 3 years. The Napa (deka?) usually get over 4 but I replace them at 4 anyway.

Wow, you guys go through batteries quickly.
I usually use a year or two old, recycled batteries and they seems to last for years.
I just replaced a battery from '07 with a 2015 "fresh" battery in my old '62 fork truck.
The '07 had been weak for a while but still held a decent charge.

I agree the Optimas are not what they used to be. I got 11 years out of their yellow top batteries on my 1st 2nd gen I bought in '94 new.

Thanks guys. I think I'm just going to go with a WallyMart group 27 battery for $100. It's 810 CCA so it should be fine for me. I'd wait and try to get a decent take out at work but this battery is toast now so I can't wait.

I bought the last of the Diehard Platinim AGM's probably 5 1/2 years ago ago. My old factory batteries lives in a 12v.
I had Optima Red Tops for years on my 24v.
