N/I custom intake horn idea

Ive got an idea so i can easily upgrade my turbo.

I found a 3" elbow for a Cummins in our classifieds. With a stage IV upgrade, turn the comp housing at a 45* angle to the top. Start from the turbo with a silicon hose, 2.5". Other end of this hose start with exhaust adaptor 2.5"-3", weld in extension to top of this with 3" exhaust tubing until right height of intake horn elbow. Weld in a 3" 45* elbow here, then another piece of tubing to the intake horn and either weld it to that too or use another silicon hose.

My dad is a great welder so no problem with leaks there.
Just wanted to run my idea by some people and make sure it works, plus I needed to write it down before I fell asleep, since I did wake up with this idea at 2am. Thanks.

Yeah they are pretty similiar. I guess the only diff will be a bought elbow rather than a fabbed one. That is really neat though.

Or get a 3" turbo elbow off a 2nd gen and use a short length of charge air hose from a truck parts place.
