my truck died!!
Look in the Tech Facts section of this page...I have added the solenoid part number in there about 8 months ago.
The KSB is the cold start timing advance mechanism that aids in cold starts. See the thread "KSB" for more info.
The Bosch VE rotary pump is the injection pump
The AFC housing is the "Air Fuel Control" This upper end of the pump is where most of the modifications can be done. The diapraghm, AFC cone, fuel pin, smoke screw, and AFC starwheel are all inside the VE head . For more info...look under the Tech Facts section on how to turn the pump up as well as the governor spring installation.

The manual shutdown lever is exactly dead center in the picture you uploaded. You couldn't have centered it better if you had tried! As to what all the terms we use mean and what the pieces do, try using the search feature to find old threads where they've been discussed - it's really amazing how much info is on this site.
update, well, my part came in last week. its the VW part number that sells for at least one hundred less than the dodge part number.
these two look axactly identical side by side. same amount of threads, same length plunger (though one plunger was a round cyclinder and the other was a hex shape cyclinder), and the spring was the same.
however, the part numbers where still diffrent even though they are both bosh parts, go figure...
but alas, after two weeks of having a universal pull cable hooked up to the manual shut off lever, i finally have back the was it supposed to be.
i owe you all much thanks!!

Sorry about the FLUTE thing, somehow my brain cell was thinking of an oil pressure switch, some of them have flutes on them, not like a regular hex head. I really need to proof read my letters, I must be lysdexic or something
Glad you got it going. Jim
