Question Muffler

I am changing my exhuast. I will be going with 4" starting after the down pipe and ending in front of the rear passenger tire.

What I need advice on is what muffler to put on. I know a lot of you would go with straight pipe but I have to live with my wife and she wants a muffler.

I will be towing a TT so what would be the best muffler to get.

Thanks in advance

NAPA #21471 You and your wife will love it !! I have had a Dynamax and a Banks and by FAR this is a better muffler...Quiet on freeway..COOL turbo sound at idle.... But it sounds like a F-18 when the pedal is down...Also my EGT's are 100 deg cooler than either of the other two mufflers.. about 100 bucks..

I put a MAGNAFLOW on another pickup I had (not a diesel) and I was real happy with it. It was no louder than the stock muffler, but had about as much flow as a straight pipe. There were no internal restrictions, you could look right through the muffler and see out the other side. I thought it would be loud, but I was pleasantly surprised. It cost about $60, the bigger diesel ones would probably be a bit more.

You could always go with a glasspack and eventually the packing will blow out, giving you a better tone. There are also ways to get the packing to blow out, Gee hunny I don't know what's wrong with that muffler.
