Move timing and lost boost... is it bad?
I expected to lose a little boost but when i went from 1/8" advanced timing to 1/4" advanced it went from like 29-30psi to 25-26... seems like a lot. The truck sounds pretty good but i didnt really have a "set of the pants" feel to go by because my old pump wouldnt fuel WOT for more than a couple of seconds. I installed a piston pump and now i hold full boost.
I know boost is just resistance or whatever but i dont want to lose power if i dont have to.

Nahh, you're fine. Less timing can create more energy out the exhaust, which will create more boost, while more timing might create less boost, but more cylinder pressure, and hence, more power. Boost does seem a little low with your mods though. How far is the fuel screw turned in?

its all of the way in. i still have a stock h1c turbo and exhaust. my smoke screw is way out and my starwheel is up 8 turns but when i tried it all of the way down it made the same boost.

I don't really know if its relative but on the highway (4th gear and wide open throttle) i can get up to 1300+ degrees so im assuming im getting plenty of fuel. Im pretty intrigued about how much lower my boost is now... 5 psi for 1/8 timing seems like a lot and i want to know if the added timing is hurting me.

you and me both lol. for my turbo i bought a shelled HX35 for $100 from a friend. t crapped the exhaust wheel out the housing with some fin stuck/melted to it, so i took the 35's compressor housing and my stock H1C (non i/c engine in my 92 so it had the lil guy) put it the 35's compressor on. so i have a 54mm (i think) inducer and a 18cm housing. works quite well. Check Ebay for turbos, craigslist, classified on here or the cummins forum, scrap yards, possibly friends. just a few places that you might want to try. You never know what you find
With 3" intercooler piping, 24 valve intercooler and intake horn i push 30 psi

i dont know what i would push with stock timing... 1/8" it was 30 psi with the stock fuel pump (i know i said this already) so im going to say it would be like 33 with the stock timing.
i just made a new buddy who has a buddy with turbos laying around so i might check that out and see what he's got. i check craigslist and stuff a lot but people want 300 bucks for the stock junker i have now lol. i know turbos are cool but the prices can be WAY out of the park.
