Talking McMopar to the VE rescue

Well it was clear after Mcmopar took apart my VE pump why the truck won't go over 40! It was like smuckers jelly inside. After about 2 hours of cleaning and installing the new gov spring it seems to work flawless. He saved my day and around a grand for a new pump! The man needs to be promoted on here to like captain! Unreal with his knowledge of VE pumps. Now if i can just find a p-pump and all the stuff that goes with it that would be awesom! Thanks Again McMopar!!!!!!:

That's good news, Chris. Did the tappet cover gasket cure the oil leak?

Glad to hear that! Phil is definitely a great technician on our Dodge Diesels!
He recently helped me on a little "glitch" I had in my transmission and it has been running GREAT since he worked on it! THANKS PHIL!

ok there is one part i forgot to mention. The motor is not back together yet due to the side cover needs the gromets and the injection pump seal. I'm taking the pump tomorrow so i can get a front seal into it while we have it apart.I had several diesel VW's and it's alittle different to work on the cummins engine.i'm so happy he was here to give me alot of priceless pointers. It's the little things that make these big jobs so much easier. I have alot of VW diesel tools that i cant use on this motor. Thats the sad part. I must have close to 2000 bucks in VW diesel tools that i wish i could use on this engine. But non the less it went smooth and i ordered a bunch of gaskets for the motor such as : p/s,i/p,l/p o ring side cover grommets, Yea it's cost a good buck to get this truck up and running the way i want it but it will be well worth it. He couldn't believe how clean the inside of the motor was. It has the original 38,000 on it. But it sat for 15 years and it showed in the injection pump.So thank the diesel GOD that it works very smooth. But hey there wannadiesel don't think i forgot how you hooked me up with like 50 or so phone calls to you and you explaining so many things to me.So my hat is off to you as well!! How can my truck be a feature truck on here? I no it's a chevy but there is a cummins and that big allison in between the rails! It is a very different truck by alot. I have alot of plans for this truck and what it will do and i can tell you that McMopar will benefit from my fruits of our labor. He will love the go go juice i blend for him. So when i get to pa i will make you a special blend as well!

At least once a year the TOM category is Cummins conversions. Throw your hat in the ring then. You need to put some pics of the truck in your DTR photo gallery and post them in the nomination thread to be eligible.
