McMopar and Goerend.....

I just want the guys here to know the deal. I recently talked to Phil about the 1-2 sledgehammer and 2-3 hunt shift on my trans. Unknown to me, I recieved a UPS box from Goerend and I open it up....New VB inside. I called up Phil and we set up a date to install this new unit.

Last night I met up with him at his shop and tore the tranny open. We found nothing but good things going on. The bands were re-torqued to spec after inspecting the drums. The valve body was replaced and fluids topped off.

First of all I noticed a better N to D engagement. Mid throttle through the gears was smooth.....very very smooth. (Smarty Beta 4.4 level 5). Light throttle the gears hang like they should. WFO....The truck shifts so smooth you dont really know it is shifting.

Smarty REVO TNT. Level 7, Boost fooling on, moderate pressure, wild TM.
Ok, light throttle is wicked, fast and smooth. Moderate throttle provides a mix of power and performance. WFO is a little rough and the trans seems to hit final too soon. But, I feel that possibly might be a setting in the Smarty still....Seeing a touch more boost, maybe 33-35.....

Thanks Phil for the instruction, knowledge and friendly advice. Thanks to Goerend Transmissions for the FLAWLESS customer support!!!! And I will be at CPD this Friday if the weather holds. I will try to be there between 6-7 pm.

Good report Nate!

I agree, Phil does a great job with the transmissions! Although I am an ATS guy, Phil helped me out IMMENSLY on my 2002 Dodge CTD 24 valve when I wanted to take out all my high $$$$ ATS parts to put them in my new 2006.
I could not have done it without Phil's help and generosity on the transmission and stock parts he supplied to me.

Glad to hear your transmission is doing well for you now! Hope to see you out at CPD on Friday. I am sincerely hoping to see "Mr. 1300 H.P." (Cliff Hutton) out there! I have put out the word that I will give him $100.00 cash if he can come out to CPD and run that 10.80 in the 1/4 mile like he has told everyone he can! We'll see..........................................

Make sure someone is videotaping. It would make for some entertainment and good DTR video in the future.

This ford guy will be there. I have a digital camera and a regular video camera to shoot some video for you guys. The regular camera has a USB plug to upload online and stuff. I can bring both if necessary and 2 helmets.

No worries, I will be there with the gear. Does anyone plan on meeting somewhere prior to the track?

Not sure when I am rolling in, but if I am in town before 7 I will drop the crap at the house and roll up to the strip. If not, I will roll right in and just dump everything at the strip.

cadash:

I wish I could meet you guys at "Michaelangelos" like we did the last time, but I won't be able to get to the track until later either. Maybe next time....

No worries all!! I will probably get to the track about 630, 7ish and secure some spots like last time. I will have some cameras and 2 helmets. If anyone else can think of something else they need please dont hesitate to ask.
